“Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel”
~ Philippians 1:27
In most of Paul’s letters, he uses a phrase urging his readers to live a lifestyle that is “worthy of the Gospel,” essentially asking his readers that if you are going to claim to believe in this Gospel, life a life that lines up with it. The way I have best heard this passage taught is that if you had a scale and the Gospel was on one side and your life was on the other, would they match up? When we examine Paul’s life, we can easily see that his life lined up with the Gospel.
Since studying this passage, this has been my goal in life, to live a lifestyle that is worthy of the Gospel. Hope and prayer is that if someone were to examine the scriptures and examine my life that they would match up. In striving to live a lifestyle worthy of the Gospel, it has taken me to youth ministry for a season, then to Dallas in order to pursue further education and around the Globe on various mission trips and speaking engagements as the Lord continues to grow and stretch me, showing me what it means to fully follow Him.
This blog is an overflow of that pursuit. To share what the Lord is showing and teaching me along the way.
