His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence

~ 2 Peter 1:3

I have been chewing on this verse for the past week. We have been supplied all we need to live a life of Godliness, through His divine power. His power, the One who spoke the earth into being, formed man into His image, and breathed life into him; this God has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. And He’s done this through the knowledge of Him. In order to live the life that He has called us to, all we need is to know Him more.

Life of Godliness starts with knowing Him, not simply knowing about Him, but knowing Him and continually pursuing Him. Life of Holiness starts on my knees in prayer and in His Word listening for Him to speak, not out of duty but out of delight, knowing that He has supplied all I need to live the life He has called me to, I just need to dive into Him to live it.

¹³ Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. ¹⁴ As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, ¹⁵ but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, ¹⁶ since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
